The research paper describes the problems and the solutions in introducing and promoting Quality Engineering to corporate structures. We conducted the study based on our company's experience, in which Quality Engineering is applied to the research, technology development and new product development. In the 25 years from 1972 to 1997, we experienced some success and failure in promoting the use of Quality Engineering. From our experience, we formed a hypothesis regarding the Key Factor for Success (KFS) for promoting. Quality Engineering, and in the following 5 years, we verified the effectiveness of the hypothesis.
