This is a memorial lecture given by the author at the thirty years' commemorative meeting of the founding of Japan Welding Society whice was held on 15 th of November in 1956.
The lecture contains following three parts, 1) The history of Japan Welding Society, 2) Development in Welding Process in Japan and 3) The author's desire and expectation for activities of the society and her members.
In the first part, a detailed explanation is given with reference to the..chronicle of Japan Welding Society, which shows the names of president and vice presidents and some important matters in each year. In the second part, a description is made on the development in various branches of welding process in Japan. In the last part, the author stresses to be promoted the creative research in each branch of specialized welding process and he expresses his desire that the closer cooperation should be established between experts in both same and different fields of engineering.
The author concludes this lecture expecting that the more powerful contribution by the society and her members will be made for the international development in welding process.
