Whole-Body Retention of ¹³⁷Cs in the Young and Adult Mice

Abstract

Whole-body retentions of ¹³⁷Cs after a single intraperitoneal administration to the young and adult mice were studied to investigate the relations between the age of animal and body retention. The effect of age on the body retention was evident. The retention curves of the younger mice decreased more rapidly than those of older ages, and the younger animals had shorter biological half-times. The urinary and fecal excretions of ¹³⁷Cs in the young and adult mice were also studied.
