Lumbar hernia is a relatively rare abdominal hernia. The only therapy of the disease is operation and various kinds of operative procedures have been reported, including Dowed method.
This time we enforced the laparoscopic herniorrhaphy, which has been increasingly employed in recent years, for a case of inferior lumbar hernia occurred after a traumatic accident in a 52-year-old man.
Postoperative course was uneventful. There has been no recurrence, as of about one year after the operation. We think that this operative procedure should be beneficial for patients with lumbar hernia.
