Abstract

We experienced 47 cases of common bile duct stone, which were treated under laparoscopy. Procedures included choledocholithotomy in 34 cases and trans-cystic choledocholithotomy in 13 cases. For 30 cases of choledochotomy, we performed primary closure. Operating time were between 90 minutes and 622 minutes. In choledochotomy cases mean operating time was 249 minutes and in trans-cysticduct cases 282 minutes. As to 15 cases treated recently, a mean operating time was remarkably shortened to 194 minutes. We experienced no morbid complications. Bile leakage occured in 7 of 30 chledochotomy cases, but stopped in several days. Mean hospital stay was 10.8 days in choledochotomy cases and 8.2 days in trans-cystic duct cases.
In conclusion, laparoscopic treatment for common bile duct stone is safe and useful method, which can reduce the wound pain and shorten the hospital stay. In the near future, it will become the standard treatment of common bile duct stone.
