エスニック・スポーツの果たす役割について

The purposes of this research are the present condition of the ethnic sport performed in the festival of Upper Egypt society, and consideration about the role expected there. I want to let the situation that the athletic meet of al-nabbut is held pass, and to clarify the function as a festival of a saint birth festival, and the role to the society, which this game achieves. The game of al-nabuut is always held by l to l, and it can be called the sport combative using the exactly same sword as kendo or fencing.
A game is not necessarily held in a league match, tournament form, etc. like a modern sport. After one game finishes, those who want to participate in a game next go to a center with al-nabuut, and start a game.
Average game time is 3-5 minutes. Regardless of victory and defeat, it can participate in a game any number of times. Participants gather from every place of an Upper Egypt district. There is no stadium etc. and it decides on the holding place of a game every year.
As a result of consideration, al-nabbut functions as what is tied up of the local resident of the area concerned, and is considered to have contributed to group maintenance.
