Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify what causes uncanniness implicated in rotoscoped animation by analyzing the animation in terms of reality levels and multi-layerity. As Lamarre(2009)stated, animation is characterized by the ability of creating fictional worlds from combining many layers. This ability enables animation to vary reality levels with layers. This research argues that multi-layerity and reality levels play crucial roles in analyzing animation.
