For the purpose of clarifying fatigue in the skiing lesson, we performed the subjective symptoms test and the objective function tests such as the flicker and the muscle tests before, during and after the skiing lesson on 10 male and 8 female students with skiing experience less than two years.
The results are as follows:
1. Subjective symptoms test: The rate of complaint was high even before the skiing lesson in female students and it increased as the skiing lesson went on.
The highest rate of complaints was observed on the fourth day in male and on the third day in female students.
It turned out to require almost the same period of days as that of skiing lesson for recovery.
2. Flicker test: The flicker value decreased on the first and the second days, then increased afterwards both in male and female students.
3. Subjective muscle test and muscle strength test: Complaints on trapezius and gastrocnemial muscles began on the second day in male and on the third day in female students. The values of muscle strength tests declined on the first or the second days both in male and female students.
4. Correlationships between the test results studied: There observed no correlationships between the values of muscle strength, the rate of subjective symptoms and the flicker values before the lesson. However the rate of subjective symptoms became to reflect the values of muscle strength tests as the lesson went on.
Increases in physical subjective symptoms seem to be due to increased amounts of exercise.
