This paper presents the damage of traditional wooden buildings as shrines and temples by the Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007. Damages of traditional wooden buildings are same as the damages caused by the past earthquakes. Fortunately repairing damaged buildings, seismic reinforcement are applied to damaged buildings. Because in this area two large earthquakes have occurred in 2004 and 2007. [This abstract is not included in the PDF]
