Past research wards have studied the influence of cracking on carbonation progress in concrete structures. However, most of there words focus on cracks formed after the hydration reaction has finished, there are few examples of early-age crack studies. This study attempts to understand the influence of early-age cracks on carbonation progress. It was found that early-age cracks may be healed by the hydration of un-hydrated cement.
