Research and Development on 4-D Virtual Urban Space

Abstract

    What should by done in information engineering for realizing livable society with smooth flow of people and vehicles is to construct 90%-intelligent system and to construct information space by which a person can make a final 10% decision smoothly. The “virtual urban space” is one of its embodiments in intelligent transport systems. The virtual urban space is constructed by correcting static information as building structures and dynamic information as activities of humans and vehicles, and by combining technologies on visualization, prediction, searching and network communication, on which various applications can be created.
