Abstract

In this paper, the wearing performance and its change caused by home laundry are examined for four kinds of trial coveralls that are improved in some respects compared to commercial ones. The disadvant-ages of the commercial cover-all were reported in the previous papery. The improvements for them are carried out as follows: In type I, course direction of knitted fabric is used along vertical direction of the human body. In type II, knee and gore parts have been improved. In type II, knee and gore parts have been improved and the same fabric direction as type I has been used. In type N, elbow, knee and gore Harts have been improved and the same fabric direction as type I has been used. The result are as follows:
1) Knitted fabrics mixed with p olyester fibers are hard to stretch and its dimensional change caused by home laundry is small, therefore, type I or IV is desirable.
2) As there is remarkable change in dimension of type I made of nylon mixed knitted fabrics, type I is not suitable for practical use and an improvement in the elbow, knee and gore parts of type IV is useful.
3) Property changes of materials caused by home laundry impose restraint to the body movement. This tendency is remarkable especially in nylon mixed fabrics and cotton fabrics.
