Abstract
This study aims to examine the structures of coping strategy of purchase, wear and disuse in the sequence of clothing behaviours as well as individual differences in coping strategy.
The concrete originality device actions of the purchase, wearing and disuse of clothes were collected by an open questionnaire survey to two hundred and forty-four man and woman university students. The contents of the description were analyzed by using the quantification -III.
As a result, three axes were found in each structures of coping strategy of purchase, wear and disuse of clothes. Then, the features of the group at the point of purchase, wear and disuse of clothes were examined with a cluster analysis based on the sample score. As a result, it was possible to clas-sif y the group into three clusters in purchasing and wearing, and into four clusters in disuse of clothes. Especially, differences in coping strategy of disuse of clothes have been found by examining the clus-ter from the view point of fashion attitudes and the clothes expense. The students, who are highly concerned about fashion and wish to adopt fashion positively without spending much money in pur-chasing clothes, tend to buy inexpensive clothes at a grand sale and to wear carefully and to throw away at the time of disuse.
