After fabrication of Fe-Ni electrodeposited alloy foils with an Invar composition, their structures were analyzed. Consistently with earlier studies, X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the coexistence of bcc and fcc phases in the foils. An important novel finding from cross-sectional SEM observations is that the electrodeposited foils comprise two clearly distinct layers.
