Abstract
Suvery works for ore deposits of the Geological Survey of Japan are essentially composed of fundamental investigations, special. reseaches, and surveys on request from private industries. The fundamental works are divided into two kinds as, follows. Ore lays stress on the investigations of regional surveys throughout mineral provinces with metallic ores such as "black ore" and "Kieslager" deposits, gold deposits of Tertiary period and manganese deposits in Palaeozoic system. The other is, genetical investigations of all kinds of deposits. The special researches have been carried out on titaniferous iron sand and low grade iron ore deposits, and on pyrrhotite deposits as raw materials of sulphuric acid and iron industries. The surveys on consignment are carried out in response to requests from the prefectural government offices and private businesses.
