Abstract

We have synthesized novel silicon-containing polymer with a benzodioxane group by using a RhCl(PPh3)3 catalyst. The number-average and weight-average molecular weights of the obtained polymer were 11000 and 25000, respectively. The polymer was soluble in organic solvents such as toluene and chloroform. The fluorescence spectrum of the polymer showed photoluminescence peaks at 320 and 358 nm. Further, from the polymer was found to have high thermal stability, of which TG started to decrease at 428°C.
