Preparation of 2-Alkyiquinolines by TiO₂-photocatalyzed Reaction of Arylamines in Alcohols

Abstract

The TiO₂-photocatalyzed reaction of arylamines in alcohols afforded 4-alkoxy-2-alkyl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro quinolines and 2-alkylqunolines in low to moderate yields. The TiO2-photocatalyzed reaction of arylamines gave 4-alkoxy-2-alkyl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydroquinolines, which were converted into 2-alkylquinolines by UV irradiation.
