16 cases with febrile convulsion and 3 cases with acute recurrent cerevical lymphadenitis were studied as to the presence of allergic nasopharyngitis which is easily alleviated by treatment SCG nasal spray.
All of cases had positive family history of allergy, showing charactaristic symptoms and signs of upper respiratory tract allergy.10 out of 14 cases showed hyperpyrexic episodes over 10 times per one year.5 out of 12 cases with febrile convulsion showed positive lg-E·ERAST. On the other hand,11 out of 13 cases subjected to cytological tests for basophilic cells or eosinophils in scraped specimens of nasal mucosa and adenoids showed positive results.
Anti-allergic drugs with SCG nasal spray as the central figure were very effective to cure hyperpyrexia and thus of preventive effect on febrile convulsion and acute recurrent cerevical lymphadenitis.
