In this paper, we consider a design method of robust vibration controller for flexible structures with parameter perturbations. This method is based on incorporating the quadratic stabilizing theory and robust stabilizing theory to the framework of the standard H∞ problem. To confirm the validity of our proposed procedure, we consider the vibration control problem of an elastic beam whose ends are simply supported. Approximated model has 1st, 2nd and 3rd vibration modes. This means higher modes more than 4th are neglected. We have to treat these modes as the unstructured uncertainty. Furthermore, we arrange an additive mass as the structured uncertainty. In this situation, we synthesize the robust controller and show that it has expected performance in both simulation and experiment.
