Abstract
A clinical trial of Diacort® ointment and cream for inflammatory skin diseases was performed by a research group consisting of 15 dermatologic clinics in Osaka, Hyogo and Nara.
The efficacy and safety of topical 0.05% diflorasone diacetate preparations, Diacort ointment and cream were evaluated in 200 patients with various dermatoses, namely psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, pustulosis palmo-plantaris and the other 17 types of dermatoses. The result showed at least moderate improvement in 78. 9% of the ointment-treated patients and in 86. 9% of the cream-treated patients. The incidence of adverse reactions was 4.7% in the ointment, 4.2% in the cream and 4.5% in total. Accordingly, the ointment was proved to be useful in 75% and the cream in 87. 5%. Thus, the result demonstrated that Diacort ointment and cream were safe, effective and highly useful topical corticosteroid preparations.
