Experimental loading tests of high strength bolted joint had been carried out to clear the behavior of the joint under bearing ultimate state. This paper coordinated the results of experiments that authors had executed in past. In this paper, mechanical behavior of the joint under ultimate state are discussed focused on load carrying, deformation and energy absorption of the joint. It is concluded that fracture modes, that is shear fracture in bolt shank or edge of connected plate and tensile fracture in net cross-section of the connected plate is predictable in the case that fracture loads are different more than approximately twenty percent.
