Abstract
Installing stiffener is effective to prevent plate buckling of plate panels. When focusing on a L-shaped member connected to the plate by high strength bolts, past experimental results reveal strengthening effects equal to welded stiffener can be obtained by the L-shaped member bolted. However, design method of the L-shaped member is not established yet. Then investigated in this study is strengthening effects of the L-shaped member by focusing on bolt intervals and bolt layout through FEM analysis. It is concluded the L-shaped members bolted are effective for plate buckling prevention regardless of tightening bolt force and the bolt intervals are decided so that buckling of the plate panel between the bolts not occur.
