Abstract
For the investigative analysis on flow / deformation behaviors of taphole mix plugged into the blast furnace taphole, it is important to evaluate the influences of temperature change of taphole mix. To calculate the temperature change / distribution of taphole mix during plugging, the authors investigated the apparent thermal conductivity of green tap hole mix by the combination of laboratory experiments and fitting method. Using thus obtained apparent thermal conductivity, the temperature change / distnbtition of taphole mix plugged into taphole was calculated, which was evaluated by comparing with the temperature measurement results at the blast furnace. In the investigation process, it was concluded that boiling and condensation behaviors of volatile matter play important roles on heat transfer at the initial stage of heating. Furthermore, the structure formation process of taphole is discussed with obtained calculation results and possible changes of binder tar properties.
