Abstract
Effects of several growth regulators on the appearance and the elongation of lateral buds of potato seedling were studied and the results obtained were summarized as follows, 1. The appearance of lateral buds was hastened with KIN five days earlier than that untreated, however was not with TIBA. 2. The elongational and the directional growth of lateral buds was suggested to be controlled with auxin, especially IPyA. The former was apt to be supressed and the latter to be shown more downward with the increase of IPyA. 3. The elongation of lateral buds was apt to be suppressed with the treatment of ABA.
