In rabbits the unilateral as well as bilateral extirpation of the suprarenal glands produces an increase in the blood cholesterol content, and in the latter cases the increase is much large, and reaches its acme 5-7 days after the last removal. The hyperchole-sterolaemia lasts at least for a week, sometimes for three weeks or longer.
