Modern Issues and Countermeasures for Deer as Harmful Birds and Beasts Hiroyuki Kaji

Abstract

In recent years, the damage to agriculture, forestry and fisheries by harmful birds and beasts has become serious in various parts of Japan. Among the measures against harmful birds and beasts, there is an urgent need to prevent the damage to the agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries due to deer. In this paper, we will discuss the contemporary issues, backgrounds and improvement measures of deer which is a harmful bird and beast, from the following viewpoints; the process of harmful deer and beasts, the harmful effect of deer population increase, the various factors of deer mass breeding, measures and methods required for deer population management, the venison as an effective method of deer removal. This paper will be the basic work for searching for future bird and animal harm measures.

The significance of this article is following two points. This report has the meaning as the premise work to explore the commercial nature of gibier dishes advanced as part of the birds and beasts harm measures in the whole country.
