Scattering Parameter Estimation of Patch Array Wave Absorber at Arbitrary Polarizations and Incident Angles

This paper proposes the estimating method of the S parameters of patch array absorbers at arbitrary polarizations and incident angles. S parameters were derived from the impedances of the wave absorber from the impedances at only four incident angles. It was found that the minimum reflection angle and angle widths of the -15 dB reflection and -30 dB polarization conversion can be estimated with 5° error. Therefore, the validity of the proposed method is demonstrated.
