A seam strength, elongation and slippage which are important in use of clothings are discussed in relation to sewing method and technical standard. The result is as follows.
1. A seam strength is able to presumed from the strength of sewing-threads, and it is affected by seam-types and stitches.
2. A seam elongation is affected by the elongation of sewing-threads, stitch-types, stitches and sewing-procedures.
3. A seam slippage is hardly related to the conditions of sewing, but it is possible to be improved by the seam type to some extend. Essentially, it is determined in properties of fabric.
