16-6 LBGアルゴリズムの初期値設定の一手法 : 直和分割逐次増加型LBG

抄録

New method of vector quantizer design, named Partitioning Successively Increasing LBG(Ψ-LBG for short), has been developed. This method is superior to the conventional LBG algorithm, generating better codebooks with less initial condition dependency and smaller quantization error. The outline of the Ψ-LBG and a result of image coding are presented.
