抄録

This paper reports on a number of experiments, the goal of which was to identify those special factors important to the reproduction of sound accompanying moving images, and to make improvements in the areas identified. Similalities and defferences in the cinema and reproduction in the home are reported. It informs the Home THX system which was developed for the precise reproduction of the cinema sound originaly produced at the dubbing-stage based on these experiments, the characteristics for THX system is informed such as the directivity for front and surround speakers, the utility of a center channel, the de-correlation technique of enveloping sound for surround channel, the timber maching between large cinema theater and home listening room, the timber maching for surround to front speaker etc.
