It has been desired to realize high picture quality, compact set and low price in CRT projection display at the same time. But there were many problems involved in the specification, design, and production. We have solved these problems by developing a new aspherical optical system with short projection distance. The new aspherical optical system consists of hybrid lens system and aspherical phosphor CRT. AS a result, we developed a high picture quality projection TV set with slim style for home use.
