A 12 inch large capacity optical recording system is developed. Relationship between recording process and edge-fluctuations in ablative film is investigated experimentally and theoretically. Based on our analyses, we have determined the optimum recording condition, which minimizes the jitter fluctuation caused by recording condition fluctuation.
