The Broadcasting Technology Association (BTA) has recently established two standards. One is BTA S-005 'Ancillary data packet and space formatting of bit-serial digital interface for 1125/60 HDTV system'. BTA S-005 describes common ancillary data format for 1125/60 HDTV system, and this standard will be applied to any application of ancillary data. The other is BTA S-006 'Audio data format of bit-serial digital interface for 1125/50 HDTV system'. BTA S-006 describes audio data format of bit-serial interface for 1125/60 HDTV system, and has such features an '24 bits in one packet', 'error correction code' and 'audio clock phase data'. This paper describes outlines of these two BTA standards and content of technical consideration in the BTA.
