抄録

As the Meteorological Service Law was revised, the "liberalization of forecast" has been put into effect. Triggered by such a chance, the detalls of NHK's weather information, as well as the program arrangement, has been improved. NHK is now allowed to introduce GPV (Grid Point Value) and other new data for telecasting purposes and change conventional weather images into animated three-dimensional images that viewers can easily understand. This paper outlines the newly developed weather image drawing system and the animated weather image file that NHK has introduced recently.
