Abstract

We showed that adding noise to some type of picture like wood, cloud, etc. results in increase of scores of preference. We are regarding the brush stroke of paintings as a preferred noise. This work aims to improve impression of space and texture by applying stroke textures of paintings to digital imaging. The space frequency element of the original image was matched to that of the brush stroke texture, while the phase information maintains the original one. Brush stroke was added along the edge of the image (outline) . In the part without the outline, a vertical direction to the inclination of the gradation was selected.
