Eighteen kinds of 4-phenylalkyl-3, 4-dihydro-2H-pyrido [3, 2-b]-1, 4-oxazine derivative (14a-19c), and their hydrochlorides were synthesized. The preliminary investigation on the local anesthetic and the analgesic (mouse writhing test) activities of these synthesized compounds was carried out. All these compounds had no surface anesthetic activity and had a slight infiltration inferior to that of lidocaine : some of them have the analgesic action approximately equivalent to that of aspirin. It was proved that all these compounds have little acute toxicity.
