1-(2-Mercaptoethyl)guanidine Sulfateの製法, ならびに呈色反応によるAziridine類の検出について

Treatment of 2-(2-aminoethyl)-2-thiopseudourea (AET) sulfate with 1 equiv. of Ba(OH)₂ was introduced to the isolation of 1-(2-mercaptoethyl)guanidine (MEG) sulfate which has been supposed by Doherty, et al. to be the active principle of AET, the protector of radiation sickness. A method for detection of aziridines color by reaction was devised on the basis of the fact that an aziridine reacts with thiourea and an acid in the cold to yield the corresponding 2-(2-aminoalkyl)-2-thiopseudourea salt which is converted to 1-(2-mercaptoalkyl)guanidine by neutralization.
