The E1-mice fell into convulsive seizure when shaken up and down on a flat carton. Then the relationship between 2 E1-mice were studied. Three factors, (1) threshold of shaking-number for convulsion (expressed as TSC), (2) rate of non-convulsive mice after shaking stimulation within 60 times (expressed as RNC) and (3) simultaneity between 2 E1-mice (expressed as Sim) were estimated. It was thought that the convulsion propagated seemingly between 2 E1-mice. Inter-relations between these factors were made into numerical expressions, and propagation of the convulsion was tried to be expressed numerically by means of TSC of 1 mouse minus TSC of 2 mice. Effect of some drugs on the relationship between 2 E1-mice shaken together or between the above factors was examined. The dose of drugs used was a small quantity by which any general pharmacological effect or influence on the E1-convulsion was not observed. TSC or RNC was increased and simultaneity was decreased in 2-E1 mice by administration of γ-aminobutyric acid (abbr. to GABA) or β-oxy-γ-amino butyric acid (abbr. to GABOB), that is, E1-convulsion in 2 mice was slightly supressed by the dose of these agents which had no effect on 1 mouse. Similar effect was observed in central depressants. When central stimulants were administered to E1-mice, simultaneity was increased, but TSC or RNC was not affected. Propagation of E1-convulsion was hardly influenced by many kinds of drugs, but it was depressed when GABA or GABOB was administered, and it was increased when DL-amphetamine or vitacampher was administered.
