As chemical modification of Bimetopyrol [2-methyl-4, 5-bis(p-methoxyphenyl)pyrrole], 2, 3-cycloalkylpyrrole compounds were prepared by the condensation of α-hydroxyketones and cycloalkanones in the presence of ammonium acetate. The synthesis of pyrrolizidinone, indole, and azaazulene compounds is also described.
