In the last two decades, the cross-coupling reactions of carbon nucleophiles with carbon electrophiles have been intensively studied. Recently, the reductive cross-coupling reaction of two different electrophiles has attracted much attention as an alternative to the traditional cross-coupling reaction. In this review, the recent progress of the nickel-catalyzed reductive cross-coupling reaction is described.
