    Thesurfacemodificationbehaviorandthedegreeofmodificationofinorganicoxidepowdersbymonobutylphosphoricesterwereexaminedbyusingpotentiometrictitrationmethodlogy.Siliconoxide,titaniumoxide,andaluminumoxidewithdifferentequi-acid-basepointsweremodifiedbyusingmonobutylphosphoricesterinaqueoussolutions.Asaresult,itbecameclearthatsurfacemodificationreactionofthreekindsofinorganicpowderstookplacebytheadsorplionofmonobutylphosphoricesteraniononOH,"sitesonthen・oxidesthroughionicbonding.Inaddition,titrationdatashowedthattheamountsofSiO2,TiO,.AlAsurfacesbythemonobutylphosphoricesterweretobe0.00mg.m-2.0.09mg.m-2,0.24mg・m-2,whichwereingoodagreementwiththeamountsdeterminedbycarbonanalyzer.Therefore,itwassuggestedthatpotentiometrictitrationisoneofusefultechniquestomeasuretheamountsofsurfacemodificationofinorganicoxidepowder
