The blister resistance under heat and humidity has been improved through the addition of tackifier (TF) to pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) for touch screen (Qptically Qlear pressure sensitive Adhe_ sive: OCA). The blister resistance tests were conducted for PSAs containing several TFs which have various miscibilities with the base polymer (BP). The TF which shows proper miscibility with BP significantly improved the blister resistance. Moreover the blister resistances related to the adhesions under high temperature. The surface composition of the PSA containing TF was measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The surface weight fraction of the TF prevented the blistering was almost 100%, indicatingthat the TF segregated onto the surface of the PSA. Moreover the surface segregation of TF didn't influence the viscoelasticity behavior measured by dynamic mechanical analysis. It was assumed that the improvement of the adhesion properties under high temperature related to the high Tg region near the surface of the PSA formed by the surface segregation of TF.

We synthesized acrylic telechelic polymers having hydroxy groups at both ends by living radical polymerization method. Adding a suitable polyisocyanate to these polymers, characteristic adhesives that formed chain elongation structure and cross linking structure were provided. The adhesive per_ formances of these adhesives were equal to existing product. And furthermore, these adhesives showed low contamination for adherend after the heat resistance test, and low temperature dependency and release rate dependency of the adhesive strength. Depending on composition, volatilization of adhesives was able to assume the high solid content more than 80%.

Bisphenylfluorene derivatives having two trialkoxysilyl groups, which are capable to bond with titanium alkoxide, were synthesized by Michael addition of mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane to two terminal C=C bonds of acrylic groups in bisphenoxy ethylene glycol fluorene acrylate having different length of ethylene glycol units. The organic-inorganic hybrid films were prepared by UV irradiation, after spin coating of the mixture of these silylated bisphenylfluorenes and titanium tetra-n-butoxide in the presence of a photo acid generator. The refractive indices of thin films were depended on the contents of titania in the hybrid. Furthermore, it was observed that the changing rate of refractive index was caused by a different length of ethylene glycol side chain in silylated bisphenylfluorene. It was seemed that this phenomena was occurred by the presence of the interspace between the two side chains.
