The researches in metamorphic rocks in Japan have so much progressed in recent years that the granites are now regarded as the subjects not to be neglected, in the studies of metamorphism. And great efforts are being made in the field of granite problem. It was the reason why the present symposium was held at the 11th Annual Meetiug of the Association. But, as is well known, the problems of granite are so comprehensive that it was advisable to restrict the subjects to a certain aspect of the problems. Thus, the "granitization" was chosen for that occaion. Five adresses with various examples of granitized rocks from several Metamorphiden such as the Hidaka (by K. KIZAKI), the Abukuma (by I. WATANABE), the Hida (by H. KOBAYASHI), the Ryoke (the Yanai district, by Y. OKAMURA) and the Higo (by H. KOBAYASHI), the Ryoke (the Yanai district, by Y. OKAMURA) and the Higo (by H. YAMAMOTO), are reproduced here, (see figure on page 1) and the records of discussions are added.
