    In this laboratory test, saturated loose sands were shaken causing their liquefaction, and the settlement of sands and excess pore water pressure were measured. Sands showed delicate response for vibration and it was observed that slight difference in the qualities of the sands affected the result of the test. This test result proved that the liquefaction is caused by the destruction of the skeleton due to vibration, and the sand grains become suspended, there by causing the rise of the excess pore water pressure, equal to the submerged weight of sand. At the same time, this liquefaction starts the sinking of grains. (consolidation) This type of consolidation process of sands showed, it was entirely different from that of the heat-conducting type of clay.

    We consider the optimum distribution of the yield shearing force coefficient, in the based on the distribution of the ductility factor in this paper. That is, we shows the relation between the yield shearing force coefficient ratio in the upper story to lower story and the corresponding ductility factor ratio for the four kind of multistories buildings (25, 15, 8, 5-stories building) and the spring constant ratio in plastic range (k_p) to elastic range (k_e)n_r=(1-k_p/k_e)=1.0, n_r=0.75. From this study, we are deduced as follows : 1) We consider the distribution of the yield shearing force conefficient in concerned with the distribution of ductility factor, and we find that the yield shearing force coefficient ratio between the top and the first story is almost φ=2 times for the three type of the distribution of the ductility factor (see the equation (7)), and the distribution of the yield shearing force coefficient is the expenential type. 2) When the ductility factor ratio in the top to the first increases, the corresponding yield shearing force ratio decreases in concering with the spring constant ratio in plastic range to elastic range (n_r). 3) We confirm that the preceding conjecture is the correct fact by means of the some examples in the case that the ductility factor of case story to be equal.

    This paper is concerned with the general solutions of shallow hyperbolic paraboloid shell in state of free vibrations. Setting stress resultants with stress functions as follows, N^<11>=(φ_<22>+f_1)/L^4 N^<12>=(-φ_<12>+f_2)/L^4 N^<22>=(φ_<11>+f_1)/L^4 authors get [numerical formula] as necessary conditions, and using this relations we can express equilibrium equations and compatibility equations with φ, f_2 and displacement w. Solutions were given for such boundary as follows, x=const. y=const. With the characteristic values of solutions which contain frequency function, author discuss the apploximity of 'shallow', modes, comparison with plate and Scheibe vibrations, effect of rise factor to frequencies and effect of pre-stress.

    This report illustrates applications of unmerical calculations of authors earlier paper (I). This report consists of three parts. i) simply supported edges. ii) fixed at four points. iii) clamped edges. In i), Substituting those solutions which satisfy boundary conditions to equations, frequency equation can be get directly, and variations of frequencies due to rise factor, thickness, pre-stress are clarified. In ii), the solutions obtained in (I) are used. From the determinant which contains frequency function Ω^2 implicitly, Ω^2 can be determined with the method of try and error. In iii), introducing such solutions those satisfy boundary conditions, this problem can be made for nonsymmetric eigen value problem, and numerical results were obtained.

    This paper presents an exact theory of shallow translational shells and analysis of stresses from concentrated loading. The theory of this paper corresponds to that of Flugge and Bieger on cylindrical shell. The principle is that three partial differential equations are derived at first from equilibrium conditions and that they are transformed into an 8th order differential equation of a function F. According to this transformation we are able to obtain stresses and displacements, even if the transverse shear is not negligible. Loadings are represented by double Fourier series and solution is assumed to be the same form. Though it satisfies automatically simply supported condition as a result of this assumption, it is enough for actual application. Because waves of stresses are damped very fast and then it becomes trivial problem what condition must be applied. As a matter of fact, examples have proved it to be true.

    This is the investigation of a change and the actual Condition of a government office building which has been worked for its maintenance and integrity for these eight years. I include not only repair and maintenance but also include the works for improvement and remodel into this research. Because government office buildings tend to grow up continuously and moreover, especially, almost of office buildings have been re-constructed because they have been hackneyed.

    The warrior's manner originated in keeping away from unnecessary battles. But in the Middle Ages, above all the aristcratic Muromachi Period, the essence of behaivior comes to show the social status in the feudalistic hierarchy. The social standing is pointed out with changing the dimenisons and heights of space where someone occupies, according to one's social rank. To the end of the Middle Ages, a new manner, union of original style and Muromachi style, comes to the world among the local groups warriors who break down Muromachi Shogunate. The principle of behavior in a new manner, is to change the behavior style in the public space (guest room) and private space (living room). That is, in the public space, feudalistic order is severely obeyed, but in the private space friendly behavior is relatively permitted. Because, the friendly behavior in the public space is regarded as the military disorder by their enemies.
