    This paper is study of unstability of beam column. The change of bending curvature of steel section under axial load and alternative bending morment when the morment is less than incremental collapse morment that show privious study, are shaking down but when over that, changing curve draw steady roop, in this case the strain are increasing by reversing morment. When we discuss on the unstability of beam column under reversed load, must consider two point, the one is maximam load carrying capacity, the next is shake down load or incremental collapse load. On this point, we discussed in this paper unstability of cantilever type of beam-column. rectanguler section and H section, subjected to axial load and alternative lateral force on top of column, and conclusion are, when the slenderness ratio (λ) of column is small, the critical load of unstability is not maximam carrying capacity but incremental collapse load.

    The experimental study is carried out for the purpose of studying the restoring force characteristics, ductility factor and spring constant of reinforced concrete portal frames in case of the variation of axial compression stress (σ_c=0〜120kg/cm^2) in column. The models are nearly as large as magnitude of one-eighth of the actual buildings. The modeles become to be shear failure with the increase of the axial compression force in column. The restoring force characteristics is bi-linear type for column subject to the axial force equal to zero, and is nearly leminiscate curve (double-spindele) type with the increase of the axial compression force in column. Ductility factor, R, the ratio (δ_r/δ_y) and the ratio (σ_c/F_c) lie in a linear relation in logarithmic co-ordinate and they have a decreasing tendency with the increase of the axial compression force in columns. The ratio (k_2/k_1) have a tendency to enlarge with the increase of the axial compression force in column. If the ratio (k_2/k_1) is replaced by a parameter such as n=1-k_2/k_1, n gradually decreases with the increase of the axial compression force in column.     This paper is concerned with the experimental study on seismic force decreasing rollers which are set between building and its foundation. (1) Discussion on the mechanism to decrease seismic force applied to building. (2) Types of rollers made of sinthetic resin or cast steal. (3) Statical horizontal load tests of the rollers to get restoring force and displacement curves. (4) Forced vibration tests of the rollers to get the input acceleration. The input acceleration keeps a comparatively small and constant value in the range of higher frequencies of the vibrator (≫natural frequency of the system). In these tests, the input acceleration exceed the acceleration of the vibratior in some frequency (≒natural frequency of the system), but it will be possible to design the rollers which avoid the resonance to the earthquake wave and keep the input acceleration constant.

    THIS PAPER explains about the designing procedure of optical systems, the detailed characteristic and the measured accuracy of OT-Scope. Designing the optical systems, measurements of every part except M_1 mirror are determined first by means of construment, and the curvature of the M_1 mirror is obtained by calculation. The Characteristic of OT-Scope are studied by both the theoretical process and the actual measurement. One of the outstanding characteristics of OT-Scope is the equality of the illumination on the image surface, which we cannot find in other lenses. The equality of illumination is proved theoretically, but in actual measurement the illumination on the image surface of the circumference is reduced by 4 per cent. We consider this reduction of illumination quite negligible in case of general photographic photometry, and assume that illumination on the image surface is equal. As for the accuracy of OT-Scope, it was studied by measurement that as the altitudinal measurement in sphere from 20 degrees to 85 degrees altitude of general measured object, the error is no greater than 1 degree, and that as the measurement of sky factor, the error is in 1 per cent. We believe this accuracy is high enough for the general use. The causes of the errors which appear in here, it is considered, depend chiefly upon the mirror's inaccurate curvature in polishing process and the inaccuracy of construction of each system. We have come to conclusion, therefore, that the higher accuracy can be obtained by improving the manufacturing process and the testing method.

    This is the first report of the fundamental investigations for the planning of the library system to community area in Japan. Survey has been done in Amagasaki city in 1960 to know the distribution of the many kind of libraries, -public libraries, school libraries, libraries in the offices, rending book-stores, etc.-, how they are going to be used by the people, and what relationships are among them. Some of the results are as follows : 1) People who live in a residencial or commercial district read much books, compared with an agricultural community. 2) Ratio or number of readings depend on the age and school career of the people. 3) When people want to read a book, most people buy it at the book-store, some go to the rending book-store etc., and there are only few who go to the public library at the present circumstances. It seems mainly due to the poor condition of the public libraries, inferior to the number of buildings or books, compared to the other kind of libraries. Therefore, it is expected that more people go to the public libraries when the condition will be raised in near future.

    Nowadays, the diffusion of lasting consumer goods-TV, refrigrator, washer, etc.-, variety of diet and increase of leisure consumption are regarded as so-called living innovation. But the phenomenon does not necessarily considered as a vigh standard of living in a especially narrow dwelling unit in Japan. We persuade the influences of new furinitures upon the living life-the space pattern of mode of life-and make clear what is the living innovation. The conclusion is as follows. The living life of the poor class which was made up of only sleeping and eating, was severely influenced wich TV and chainged into a few living type in the three rooms apartments houses. These chainge severely demand for establishment of living room. (1) A type of seperating TV from diet. TV is seperated from diet and set in the bed room. (2) A type of concentrating TV diet on a bed room. Sleeping, eating and sitting round TV are operated in the same room. (3) A type of seperating TV from bed room. TV is seperated from bed room and set in the diet.

    A) This is a report related to the study of influential area of Rapid Transit Stations. Especially main emphasis is placed upon the trip generation's ratio of commuters within those influential area. B) The study area is put along a privately owned rapid transit line within Tokyo Metropolitan area. From this study we get such results as follows; 1) A borderline of station's influential are will be defined at the place where the ratio of cummulative commuter's distribution is to be reached to 90 per cent. 2) Firstly a ratio of commuter's trip to the total population within its area was examined, and the ratio of those trip to the total number of households was sought. A better result was gained from the latter analysis, because the fittness of correlation coefficient of the latter study was higher. 3) The station's influential area should be divided to two parts, the first of which must be called the main station's influential area where most parts of its commuters will be included. 4) In order to estimate the number of commuters within residential district along its Rapid Transit Line, we get those formulas. T_1=0.324x T_2=1.068y T_3=-0.1495x+1.145y where : T=number of commuters x=population size y=number of households

    "Edo-Castle" was the residence for "Tokugawa-Shogun" and "Kyoto Imperial Palace" was the residence for emperor. Whenever both of them were reduced to ashes, they were reconstructed by "Tokugawa-Shogunate" in Edoera. In the old documents about the reconstruction of those two, "Honto" was used as a date for estimation.(Edo-Castle; in 1838, 1844 and 1864. Kyoto Imperial Palace; in 1663, 1665, 1675, 1789 and 1847.) According to these old documents, "Honto" is used as following; (For instance, standards for carpenter) 1) A) Standard wage per a day, per person. B) The number of carpenters per unit area (6.5 shaku square) This depends on rank of house. C) The ratio for standard wage. This depends on social and economical conditions, a labor conditions, a rank or position of his occupation, and the standing of his family, etc. 2) The process of estimation; "Honto-A" multiplied "Honto-B" is carpenter's standard cost. The total cost of carpenter is, therefore, A×B+A×B×C=A×B×(1+C)
