    This thesis proposes a design methodology for versatile, deployable three-dimensional curved structures by integrating scissor mechanisms with umbrella-like frameworks. The umbrella’s handle, framework, and membrane are reinterpreted as columns, beams, and walls, expanding structural design possibilities. A key feature of this approach is the use of a scissor mechanism that can deploy along a curved path, corresponding to the frameworks of an umbrella. This enables efficient deployment and retraction towards any location by moving a single point, offering greater control over complex curved surfaces. To facilitate the realization of various curvatures and ensure smooth operation, a mechanism allowing for variable member lengths has been developed. This adaptability enhances the system’s flexibility, making it applicable to diverse architectural and engineering contexts. To validate the method's effectiveness, a full-scale model was constructed, and its performance and structural integrity were thoroughly evaluated. Using an algorithm developed in Grasshopper, the methodology bridges the gap between complex design and practical construction, enabling the deployment of scissor structures on arbitrary three-dimensional surfaces. The results demonstrate new possibilities for adaptable, deployable structures, suitable for various applications.

    In the field of construction, cost estimation is conducted before the actual construction work. In the cost estimation, the required items for the construction and their quantities are summarized as a document. To validate the document, a supervision process is conducted. However, there is not so much time to perform the accurate validation for all items. Therefore, the workflow depends on the supervision workers' decisions based on past construction trends. To solve this problem, we consider the automation of cost estimation supervision by using data from past construction documents. If we can analyze the data and understand the relationship between items and their quantities, we can automate the supervision process based on those rules. In this study, we prepare a database from the past cost estimation documents and develop an efficiency system for the construction cost estimation supervision.

    This study focuses on analyzing virtual images generated by AI to understand the characteristics of regional streetscapes, with a particular emphasis on visual information. Using Stable Diffusion, varied images of streetscapes with tree-lined avenues and buildings are generated, focusing on Pontocho, Shinsekai, and Midosuji. Evaluation involves impression assessment through surveys to gauge the streetscape authenticity perceived by participants, and image assessment through segmentation to determine the proportions of elements within images. Analyzing these results reveals how streetscape elements contribute to perceived authenticity. Multiple focal points by participants and the influence of material and condition variations per element were identified.
