    A family of five generations with 128 persons was studied with respect to the inheritance of allergy, especially of bronchial asthma, and following results were obtained. 1) The number of males and females of this family was the same, namaly 64 respectively. Among them 47.5% of males and 42.9% of females had the history of allergy and as to bronchial asthma the incidence of its manifestation was 37.7% in males and 30.2% in females. As a whole allergic diseases were found in 45.2% including 33.9% of bronchial asthma. 2) There were no significant differences in the incidences of bronchial asthma and/or other allergic diseases among children, whether both of their parents were affected by bronchial asthma or any other allergic diseases, or only one of their parents was affected. It was noticed, however, that the incidences of bronchial asthma or other allergy among children of non-allergic parents were definitely lower than those among children of allergic parent. 3) Accepting the hypothesis that the inheritance of allergy depends upon a single pair of allermorphic gene transmitted according to the mendelian laws, the gene of allergy in this family was considered neither to be completely dominant nor completely recessive, but rather to be incompletly dominant. 4) Bronchial asthma was thought to be inherited not by itself but to form one component in the heredity of a variety of allergic diseases.

    Based upon the Hamamoto's theory of "Intravascular Antigen-Antibody reaction", anti-rabbit red cell guinea pig serum were injected intravenously through the hepatic artery and portal vein of rabbits. Both histological changes in the liver and changes in various liver function tests caused by this reversed anaphylaxis were simultaneously investigated. The results obtained were as follows: 1) The most severe histological changes in the liver were observed in the rabbits injected provocatively into the hepatic artery and portal vein. Major changes in these groups were as follows: a) parenchymal necrotic foci, b) various degree of degeneration of liver cells, c) serous inflammation, d) thrombosis, e) fibrinoid swelling of arterial walls. No significant changes were found in the control animals. 2) Then, the electrophoretic pattern of serum protein fractions were as follows: a) decrease of total serum protein, b) declination of albumin, c) increase of α-and β-globulin, d) declination of gamma globulin. 3) The results of the liver function tests were slight positive only by the Cephalin-cholesterol flocculation test and Cobalt reaction. The significant correlation between these patho-histological changes and the grade of functional disturbances of the liver were discussed.

    Plasmin was prepared from the blood of various animals in different ways and injected it into guinea pigs whether it produces the shock or not. Plasmin was added to various animal's blood in vivo and in vitro and tested whether cytolysis developed or not. The results obtained are as follows; 1) When plasmin from various animals was injected intravenously into guinea pigs, anaphylactoid shock developed in same species, but did not in heterospecies. 2) Leucolysis by plasmin was observed. Plasmin (supernatant of 5,000 r.p.m. centrifugation) prepared from various animals seemed to develop the leucolysis. However, no leucolysis developed with plasmin (supernatant of 1,000 r.p.m. centrifugation). 3) After injection of human plasmin or heated human plasmin intravenously into guinea pigs, the blood platelets counts were performed. The highest decrease of platelets was observed at 5 minutes after the injection and the decrease was observed at 60.1% in non-heated human plasmin and 49.4% in heated human plasmin. 4) The release of histamine-like substance from isolated rat mast cells by plasmin was tested. The releasing percentages by antigen were 38.5%, and by heated plasmin 17.8%. 5) The morphological changes of mast cells after adding plasmin were observed by toluidine blue supravital stainings. The cells were counted at five minutes after stainings. Percentages of ghost cells in all mast cells were 32.0% in plasmin, 20.6% in heated plasmin and 1.2%. in control. It appears from these observations that plasmin which is activated by the antigen-antibody reaction, attacks the mast cells and blood platelets, then histamine and other mediators are released. Consequently, the plasmin might has some role in the anaphylactic shock or allergic reaction.

    Continuing the investigation of report I and II, the author carried out an experiment of the intravascular antigen-antibody reaction of thrombocyte. This paper was described macroscopical and histological changes of the spleen in rabbit which were injected with the anti-rabbit thrombocyte guinea pig serum into the splenic artery and were autopsied periodically from twenty-four hours to fourteen days after the provocative injection. In the gross finding of the spleen, hemorrhagic infanction were frequently observed in the 24th and 48th hour groups, but in the 7th and 14th day groups no significant changes were found macroscopically. In the histological observation, the remarkable changes were as follows: atroyhy of follicle and proliferation of endothelial cells of arteria centralis in the white pulp. In the red puly, necroses with hemorrhage, congestion and dilatation of sinusoids, swelling of the sinus endothelial cells, perifollicular inflammation, thrombophagocytosis, hemosiderosis, appearance of megacaryocytes in the sinusoids, proliferation of reticular cells and edema of the trabeculae.
