The aim of this paper is to study the Ohara Museum of Art Sculpture appreciation program for young children: “Conversation for the appreciation of sculptures”, “Copying a sculpture in clay for appreciation”, and “Forming clay to something three dimensional”. In the conversation, the words from the staff help the children respond linguistically to the sculpture, and draw out the material responsiveness of the sculpture. Young children watch the sculpture carefully through copying, and get to know the particular nature of sculpture. In addition, in “Forming clay to something three dimensional”, they find out for themselves the relevance of self-expression by experiencing the difficulties in creating and finishing their own sculptural works. In the program, children see various styles of sculpture, and learn elements of them.

This paper is aimed at examining and illustrating the effectiveness of school management using art education.
In recent years school problems have been more and more increased, and an approach originated with art education is effective in solving such problems. Plastic art tells the state of the child's mind, and it is the resources that help the child find what is good and not good about the self and reflect on the self. Through being engaged wholeheartedly and considerately in the activities of plastic art, the child develops the attitude of being earnest in every aspect of the living; they improve mind pursuing beauty and contribute to the character development. When all teacher work for plastic art on the same theme at all grades, they develop cooperative consciousness and the school functions as an organization. At such school, the child could develop solid capabilities.

In this article, establishing oneself and expanding one's view of the world as a result of encountering the “foreigner” is characterized as a two-way communication. Based on my previous article entitled “Consideration of the Exterior World-“Stranger” in M. Duchamp and the Scribbling of a Child”, this article investigates it with specific reference to woodcarving class in high school art education. Subsequently, attention is focused on drawing class for kindergarten children aged 4 in order to provide further insight into the positional superiority of the “learner”, as the “foreigner”, over the “teacher” and art education as the dialogue between the “learner” and the “teacher”. In addition, the article suggests that art education, fostering creativity derived from a two-way communication, can serve as a basis of all human activities.

This study examines the values of viewing contemporary art based on the post-visit questionnaire given to Japanese university students. In 2007, twenty-six students visited Venice Biennale, Documenta and sculpture projects Muenster. For the first time in ten years, the three exhibits were held at the same time. The conclusion is that viewing contemporary art has value even if the viewers do not understand it. Contemporary art of the modernism era consists of a series of images that criticize earlier art and many examples are not suitable for children to see. However, contemporary art of the postmodern era is not necessarily critical. There are many works that highlight links to other fields and send positive messages for life. Supported by this study, it is expected that the appreciation of contemporary postmodern art should play a more important role than it does now in general art classes before the university level.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify that the activity of drawing expression through active touch is an effective way to develop young children's sensory perception. I carried out some experiments in which 5-6 year-old children drew pictures of images perceived through tactile object recognition experienced while blindfolded.
As a result of these experiments, It was clarified that there is a tendency for activity of drawing expression through active touch to promote children's drawing expression based on the sense of touch, not on vision, or by concept.
Therefore, it can be said that the activity of drawing expression through active touch is a partially effective way to develop young children's sensory perception.
