AR (Augmented Reality) technology aims to realize a fusion of virtual worlds and the real world. This technology is very useful also practical use or art. We propose an AR system which enables seamless relation between those two worlds by overlaying virtual images on real objects. A stereo camera is used to acquire color and disparity data of real object. In order to determine the position and the posture of the object more accurately, we performe some image processing and data optimization techniques. Finally, we project texture images on the appropriate position of the real objects by using a projector.

Tele-Immersion realizes the combination of physically separated worlds in a virtual world created by computers and networks. It is an active research topic due to the reach of CG technology and fast computer network infrastructure. At the same time, visual data mining is focused as analysis tools of bioscience and weather, because it helps the exploration of semantics from enormous number of image data. This paper introduces the trend of such technologies and recent collaborated visual data mining technologies under tele-immersion environments. The paper also discusses about the future of CG technologies as communication tools.
