In the previous paper the X-ray fluorescence method with a tungsten target tube for analysing twenty-one elements (Si, P, S, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, As, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Sn, Sb, Ta, W and Pb) in iron and steel was reported. As for phosphorus of less than 0.03% in an ordinary steel was dissatisfied, the method was found inadequate. Therefore a new method with a chromium target tube was tried.By this method, the detectable lowest limit of phosphorus in iron and steel is 0. 0015% and the standard deviation is 0.003%.
